Full Sail University’s video, “Apple & Full Sail University: Project Launch Box” does not only tell an inspirational story, but it informs the audience about Full Sail and what there is to offer the students as a recruitment tool. The president of Full Sail, Garry Jones starts out with talking about statistics with such a broad range of jobs that come from an education at the school. From, writers, designers, filmmakers, animators, editors, and so much more: Full Sail produces students in all of these areas. Full Sail teaches science through promoting art. As the video continues, Jones is explaining how to be successful throughout the industry while showing footage of the school, and awards that people have received from having this educational background and then pursuing a career within that degree program. Full Sail is the future of learning, and this video explains why and even goes beyond that.
The dollar shave club video, “Let’s talk about #2” announces a new product by using humor and different visuals to keep the audience entertained, and as well as informed. This is an important key to advertising. Once you make a human connection with the audience, they are hooked and the product is sold. The video starts out how he is sitting in the bathroom telling the audience he does not have time to shower after number two. Therefore, he introduces “One Wipe Charlie’s.” He continues informing his audience about the product as well as telling jokes and changing the scenes. The advertisement also connects to the audience through reality. While making the situation humorous, it is also one everyone experiences.
Science World uses this video and various techniques to invite more people to the museum by showing all of the attractions such as the visuals in this film. There is not really a story behind this video, however. It is more about just showing the audience what they have to offer to their clients. They have different attractions and they show that they have a large demographic from a 5-year old girl to about 35-year old woman. This video shows the two being excited and happy to be at the museum making it seem like a fun place to visit. While this commercial shows facts about the museum, it also reaches its audience by making the attractions offered seem fun and exciting. Using these techniques and strategies are very important when it comes to advertising and reaching the target audience in today’s industry. By watching all of these videos, learning different marketing techniques they used in these campaigns will help me during my future career, with which ever path I may decide to take.
