THERAPEUTIC THINGS TO DO IN ORLANDO
Sometimes all of us can get a little stressed, and by a little - I mean a lot. For some of us, we can decrease our stress by shopping, running, or doing something outdoors in general. For me, it has taken a while for me to realize not to depend on other people so much when I feel out of sorts within myself. When I get stressed with work, or an overload of life in general (which happens often) - I have started to find things local to help me keep the good energy flowing in my body. Orlando is a great place to stay outdoors all the time (as long as you have water), so here are a few places that help me decrease my stress levels.
+ LUKAS NURSERY
I have a really hard time keeping plants alive, but at Luka’s Nursery, they educate you about what plant would be best in your home. If you have a patio or an outdoor area in your home - succulents will work best for you. If you are anything like me and have a studio apartment - Monstera plants and Fiddle ferns will live their best life in that environment. Luka also offers so much more than just plants, too! You can experience butterfly encounters, garden supplies, and even creating your own pottery! This is something that is definitely worth checking out if you’re visiting Orlando, or you even live here! Make plans with some friends, or even a day date!
+ NINE ROUNDS KICKBOXING
This is something for those who have a lot of energy, or emotions to release from themselves. Kickboxing is something I have always been passionate about since I started modeling back in 2014. This is great to relieve anything that can make you stressed at the moment, and a great workout as well. Nine Rounds offers a full-body workout while incorporating nine different exercises to get yourself in a healthy shape. They also offer your first class free, and they’re open on Saturdays.
+ WEKIVA SPRINGS
If you are looking for a more relaxed environment, and need to just chill out - this is your place to be. Sometimes it can be crowded and they limit the number of people in the springs, so get there earlier on the weekends. It is a perfect place to socialize, and relax with friends! For the non-Floridians, the water is colder - so be prepared.
+ THE BEACH
I probably shouldn’t have to explain this one to people, but the beach is one of my favorite places to be & where bare feet are 100% acceptable at all times. My favorite beaches that are near Central Florida are Daytona or Clearwater. If you are wanting a little bit of travel, I recommend Anna Maria Island.
+ BARRE 3 YOGA CLASS
Another place that I relieve a lot of stress. I have gone to Barre3 ever since I lived in Tennessee, and just recently found they offer a location in Winter Park. I have found myself actually cry during yoga sessions because I will feel the stress and pain leaving my body. It has been one of the best decisions I have made in my life.
+ BRIAR PATCH CAFE
Lastly, one of my favorite coffee shops in Downtown Winter Park, and a place where it is so easy to relax. Whether you want to do some homework, study, read a book, or finish up some work in general - this is such a place to do so at. They have an amazing breakfast, pastries, and their coffee is amazing. I usually get their eggs Benedict, a cup of coffee, and water with extra lemon (always).
