2021 RESOLUTIONS

This time each year I am always trying to find new resolutions, but the year seems a little different from the world around us being restricted. Making new resolutions for the year is something I have always felt so strongly about, and putting them out there so the world can hold me accountable. But like I said, this year feels different. Some of us are still working from home, some of us are still looking for a job, and some of us are essential workers - like myself. Changes are happening every day beyond our control, and you never know what the future can hold.

Despite feeling this way, I am hopeful for the upcoming year and it will be
better than the last. Personally, things are already looking up as I have
great co-workers, friends and positive peers around me always motivating me
to be a better version of myself so I am feeling more positive about 2021.
Here are some of the resolutions I am making for 2021:

+ FIND HAPPINESS DAILY
I find myself often overloading myself within my workspace, events,
achievements. While this does bring me tremendous amounts of happiness, I
also want to be able to find happiness in everyday things. Currently, I feel
like family is the only happiness right now for a lot of people in midst of
the pandemic. No matter what you could be going through, they are always
going to be that call you make at 4 AM (sorry mom). When I am surrounded by
friends and family, nothing else in this world really matters to me.

+ CREATE A COOKBOOK
This is something I have wanted to create for a while, and I find myself
never having the chance. I've been avoiding it for a while, and not sharing
recipes on the blog so I can create something that is special and unique for
you all. Stay tuned.

+ STAY ON TRACK
This one is more business-related, and I probably make this a goal of mine
each year to stay on track. As an event planner and communications
coordinator, life gets out of hand sometimes. This upcoming year I am
launching my first business (yes, it's finally here) and this is something I
need to completely stay on top of. There have been tons of delays, hiccups,
and stress while trying to launch this - but hopefully, when the time comes,
it'll all fold out in good cards.

+ RESUME DAILY BIBLE DEVOTIONS
This kind of goes hand in hand with staying on track and holding myself
accountable. I realize when I am not doing too well in life that happens in the
same moments where I am slacking on my daily devotions. It sounds simple,
but it makes a huge difference in your everyday lifestyle.

+ DRINK MORE WATER
After traveling for the holidays, and changing environments - I was
extremely dehydrated all the time. I need to make this more of a priority in
general, and not just this upcoming year.

+ BLOG WEEKLY
I set this goal for myself every year to become a better writer. It’s something I struggle with most times, but in the upcoming year I hope to become better each day, week, and month so I can continue to grow.

+ BE ACTIVE

It’s a wonder what staying active can do for our mental and physical health. Simply taking 20-30 minutes out of your day to go on a walk, or yoga session can completely change your whole mindset for the day. If you’re lucky, it can help with the whole week. Once I get done with a yoga session (personal preference), I immediately feel better and motivated to have a better day. You will honestly be amazed at how fulfilled and energized you feel after. Especially with a lot of us being isolated due to the pandemic we didn’t leave behind us in 2020, this can open our eyes a little more each day.

While I could go on and make some more resolutions, I just feel like let's start slow. With that being said, I think I will stop here. Happy New Year, my friends.
