5 Favorite Fall Recipes
Cozy weather is right around the corner, and ALL I WANT to wish for is Florida to have at least one different season other than summer twenty-four seven, & 3 6 5 days. Living in flip flops and shorts all year round is not always that cool… if you know what I mean! B U T on the bright side, at least it’s 70-80 degrees.
Growing up in East Tennessee really doesn’t do the justice anymore now-a-days. When I first moved, I really couldn’t wait to always be next to a palm tree and the sunshine state, but it turns out it rains here every day and it is always HUMID.
Even in December, I’m still wearing my Rainbow Sandals. Yeah, that’s great and all but when is the best time to eat all the yummies? I will admit this time of year is probably perfect when it’s always 75 degrees and sunny. With this being said, start cooking.
So since I’ve been day dreaming about all the casseroles and pies in the world, I made a list of foods I am definitely going to make this year whether its 75 or 80 degrees outside or not! Best part of it all is that some of these recipes only take up to 30 minutes! #college
1. Pies
Literally just say the word and my soul shall be healed, but seriously. I love pies to a different extent. I can probably eat pie EVERY DAY of my life if I could. My ultimate FAVORITE would definitely be the traditional apple pie with vanilla ice cream. Honestly, anything with ice cream will make this girl happy. Adding pie to that, ugh. This is the best holiday dish you could have on holiday breaks.
2. Chicken Pot Pie
Whoever invented this recipe is a Goddess. I mean pies are pies but once you add chicken and veggies. Oh my… my mouth is watering just typing this to you all. This recipe is actually easy and fairly cheap as well for living on a budget. I even saw a crock pot edition on my Facebook the other day. So the game has officially changed. Nothing like good ole momma fixins’ especially in Tennessee.
3. Green Bean Casserole
I need my mom for this one. I don’t know what this lady adds into her recipe, but it’s been my favorite part of always going home for the Holidays. Who doesn’t love a momma’s homemade recipe anyways? (ok that sounded southern) But in reality, you can never go wrong with some green bean casserole. I could actually live off of this whether it’s in the seasons or not. I live in Florida anyways… right?
4. Corn Bread
OKAYYYYY! Now we’re talking… this isn’t a “fall recipe” it’s an everyday recipe. I added it in here just cause I eat it so much. I usually get the JIFFY mix and it never seems to fail and literally only takes like 10 minutes. Definitely always a GO-TO side dish for any family dinner, plus it costs less than 5 bucks.
5. Beef Stew
This is something so traditional, I eat it even in the summer. I love this recipe more than life itself. It is so convenient and such a good, easy and warm dinner. Plus, I swear its better even the next day for leftovers, and I don’t like leftovers. LIFE IS GOOD.
I always choose my recipes from Betty Crocker, Simply Southern, or All Recipes. These are all great recipes, but more of my favorites are coming soon for spring as well as summer!
