How to Turn Fashion into Passion:

Have you ever had a dream so big, that you were almost afraid to accomplish it? Or even tell somebody about it? This was me for the longest time. I was a student at the University of Tennessee studying journalism. After a few tragic moments in my life, I soon began to realize there is something more in life not only for my future, but actually within myself.

That’s when I came to Florida to study Communications. During this process, I soon realized I didn’t want to wake up at 3 A.M. and read a teleprompter for years . I wanted to make more of an impact in the world. I wanted to have fun while working. So that’s when I realized a hobby can be turned into a passion, a dream and a future. I knew there was something more to life, and something more to this world.

To give you a little more background, throughout my whole life my family always donated at least 5 bags of our clothes a year during Christmas time to the less fortunate. When I did this, it lit a spark inside of me I didn’t realize until 10 years later. This is where fashion comes into play and realizing clothes are more than just an item, it is a form of art in which you express yourself.

This is when my dreams started, and expanded to the point where I wanted to share all these creations. This is where I realized that other people’s opinion didn’t matter as long as I was happy and content within myself. Since I realized this, I have become a lot more self-confident, and instead of self-confidence I’d rather say confident in general. This is the way to perceive a different perspective in life and have positive outlook.

When I was scrolling through Instagram the other day I noticed Sadie Robertson say, “A SELF -confident woman wants to change her own life, but a BOLD-Confident woman wants to change THE WORLD.” This was something that resonated with me, and realized within myself as well as my personality. So next time you’re wanting your outfit to make you confident, make sure you are confident within yourself first, I think this is such an important feature in humans. This is what drives my passion into fashion.
