HOW I AM DECORATING MY HOUSE FOR SPRING

Getting ready for spring is always another chore on the list. Spring cleaning is never easy, and it’s more than just dusting your blinds. This is the time to focus on the closet, and everything else on the list that you have been putting off for months (be honest, you’ve done this). One of my favorite parts of spring and getting ready for a new season is putting away all that winter décor and bringing out the flowers. It brightens up the home so much, and the vibe when you open the blinds is immaculate. It's safe to assume you're more than ready for a much-needed change in weather and scenery, too.

+ BOOKS

I personally don’t think that you go wrong with books in your house. From the kitchen to the living room, they always bring life. Someone waiting on you to get ready? The book is there to flip through. Need a new recipe? Open the book. This is something that you can keep out throughout the year, but changing them up helps make the home feel new and refreshed. If you have more than enough books, maybe try rearranging them.

+ FLOWERS

Plants always bring life (literally) into the home, but if you’re anything like me – you need to constantly search for artificial plants. Plus, It can be hard to keep plants alive when the air turns crisp and the daylight fades away. Regardless, real or not – it makes a difference. Gather your favorite flowers in shades of pink, orange, and yellow and arrange them along with your table runner for the perfect spring dinner setup.

+ ADD WICKER BASKETS

You can never have enough baskets in your house. There is a basket for every occasion whether it’s in your mudroom, living room, or kitchen. Replace side tables with stacked bins, add a basket underneath your desk, or use containers to organize your closet—wicker storage pieces are both functional and add pretty texture to your room.

+ DISPLAY WOOD PIECES IN KITCHEN

Adding texture makes your home always feel more “earthy” - and I think that is what makes a home feel so cozy. Anywhere from cutting boards, wooden trays, or furniture pieces - it’s a great way to bring the outdoors inside.

+ SWAP OUT THROW PILLOWS

Looking for an easy upgrade you can make in just an afternoon? Swap out throw pillows and blankets throughout your home for a quick refresh that takes minimal effort. Whether you opt for soft pink throw pillows, or you want something a little more neutral, swapping out textiles is a great way to make a room feel brand new.
